Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with us. At MashUp, our volunteers are known as Ujima Agents. The term "Ujima" comes from the Swahili language and is one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa. It means "collective work and responsibility," highlighting the importance of working together to build and maintain our community, while also taking responsibility for the well-being of others.
As a Ujima Agent, you are joining a movement dedicated to addressing health inequities and social injustices that impact the well-being of LGBTQ+ people of color. Your commitment to this cause is a vital part of our mission, and we are excited to have you as part of our community.
Together, we can create a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
